Microsoft Windows Defender is built-in feature antivirus application which runs in the background and scans Apps, files for malicious content & links. Whenever a program is installed on your PC or you download file from the website it quickly scans and let you know about the problem it finds. It also lets you know when it doesn’t find anything suspicious. You may have experienced Windows Defender Summary Notifications appears almost daily.
Windows defender summary notifications tell you about Windows Defender run scans and found nothing bad. It does so rather frequently, If you find this annoying, you can simply turn off windows Defender summary notification in windows 10.

Turn Off Windows defender Enhanced Summary Notification
Turning Off windows defender summary notification will differ based on your windows build. This is because Windows Defender is a stand alone app as of the Creators Update.

To disable enhanced summary notification before creator update, Open the setting App & go to Security & update group settings. Now go to the Windows Defender tab and scroll down to the ‘Enhanced Notifications’ section. Turn off Enhanced Notifications, and it will disable the recent Windows Defender Summary notification.
To turn off windows defender summary notification after creator update
To open windows defender app in windows 10, simply double click on windows defender icon in the system tray. If you don’t find it in the system tray, or you have disabled it before you can search for the app in windows search to get it via the settings app.
You can see windows defender app opened, Now click on Virus and Threat Protection tab.
Now Scroll down and click ‘Virus and threat protection settings’.
On the next screen, scroll down to the Notifications section and click ‘Change notification settings’.
Here, turn off the ‘Receive recent activity and scan results’ under the ‘Windows Defender Antivirus notifications’ section.
Final Verdict about critical event notifications
This will only turn off the summary notifications you get each time Windows Defender completes a scan. It will not disable any critical alerts. Let’s say, if it detects malicious programs or suspicious link, you will get an alert, telling you to take action.
Run the last scan can be checked by opening windows defender program and looking at the home screen. You can also get additional details for the recent scan under virus & threat Protection
